NFCC Back to School Backpack Drive
APC is happy to once again serve as the collection location for North Fulton Community Charities’ annual Back to School Backpack Drive. 

Saturday, July 25

Youth Day at Fun Spot America 
APC’s middle and high school youth will enjoy a day at Fun Spot America (south of Atlanta). This is a free event! To sign up, look for a link in the most recent copy of “The Good News” or contact ">Susan Baur.

Sunday, July 26

EPIC Worship Outdoors
5:00pm on APC’s side lawn/outdoor classroom. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy worship outdoors with great praise music from our EPIC team. All are welcome–come as you are!  Stay after worship for good food and fellowship.

Tuesday, July 28

Hearts & Hands Knitting
11am in the lower church lobby or Fellowship Hall. Enjoy chatting with others while knitting or crocheting baby blankets, prayer shawls and other items to share as gifts from the church. Newbies welcome–come learn!  Contact Mary Rogovin.

Thursday, July 30

Jam-Making Session
10am in APC’s kitchen. Join us to make batches of homemade peach jam to share with visitors to the church. No experience needed–come learn!

Elder Care Support Group
10am-12pm in Room 205. Are you caring for an elderly loved one? Join our group for resources, support and to share your story with people who understand. Contact Martha Frutchey.

Sunday, August 2

Blessing of the Backpacks
9:30 & 11am. Students of all ages, bring your backpacks to worship as we share a special prayer and a small gift as a new school year begins.

APC Book Club
6:00pm in Room 205. All readers are welcome to join our discussion of “The Correspondent” by Virginia Evans. View our 2026 reading list on our Small Groups page.

Tuesday, August 4

Men’s Prayer Breakfast
8-9am in Fellowship Hall. All men are invited to gather for a full breakfast ($15), good fellowship and time for a brief inspirational message and prayer with Pastor Ollie.

Monday, August 9

Kick-off Sunday
Teacher/leader commissioning during both worship services.  S.T.E.A.M. Sunday School & Music for children (through 5th grade) resumes as does Faith Quest for middle and high school youth at 11:00am (this Sunday only!) so that families can attend the church picnic at 12pm. On August 16, Sunday School will return to the usual 9:30am hour.

Adult Education Series
9:30-10:30am in the Theater. “Christianity in the Middle East: from Indigenous Christians to Absolute Minority.” Learn the history of the five families of Middle Eastern Christianity and their theological and cultural diversity today. Christians, Muslims and Jews lived alongside one another for centuries until the end of the Ottoman Empire. What can learn today from those stories of co-existence and cooperation? Examine reasons why Christians have been migrating from the Middle East to the Americas in higher numbers in recent years. The series will be led by the Rev. Dr. Deanna Ferree Womack, Associate Professor of the History of Religions and Interfaith Studies at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology and a minister in the PCUSA. All are welcome to attend.

Church Potluck Picnic Lunch
12:00pm in Fellowship Hall.  Gather with the church family for good food and fellowship as we celebrate Kick-Off Sunday. APC will provide the main dishes and beverages, you bring the sides and desserts! In keeping with our “Back to School” theme, wear a shirt from your favorite school or college! More details are coming soon.

IGNITE Youth + Club 543 Kick-Off and Foam Party
5:00-7:00pm. Youth in grades 3-12 are encouraged to join us for a super-fun dinner, games and a colored foam party outside! Plan to wear very dark clothing as the colored foam might stain lighter fabrics.
